someone recommened ZapZyt to me before...I never tried it...but they swear by it.
Has anyone tried Tea Tree Oil? I hear that is supposed to do wonders as well.

That is actually what I have been using. I got a little lazy with the proactive regimen and most of my breakouts have cleared, but I have tried your vitamin E oil lately at night before bed. I make sure I put it on at least 15 minutes before my head hits the pillow so my pillowcase doesn't get greasy! And in addition to this, I dab a Q-tip soaked with tea tree oil onto any little problem areas I have. It seems to work better than Nuetrogena's spot cream that I always used to use. I think it especially helps it you have one of those monster cystic pimples that is really inflamed and hurts, (thank god I haven't had one in ages, but my hubby gets those now and then and it helps bring the inflamtion down a lot quicker than anything else). I just have some all natural tea tree oil I bought at Whole foods and that seems to be doing the trick. I would so much rather use Vitamin E and tea tree oil on my skin than harsh chemicals and peroxide that I have to be careful of dying my towels when I dry my face off!!

YEAH!
My bf's mom freaked out on her youngest cause he uses ProActiv and a few of the brand new towels she bought for their house in Tahoe have been trashed because of the BP! It totally stained / bleached the color right out!
I am cool with putting stuff like that on my face.
So far, i am really liking the Tea Tree oil stuff I just bought, too!
I want my everyday to be a holiday!

Everyone warned me to be careful about bleaching your towel so I was trying to be careful to just use white or off white towels because when you get out of the shower it's just second nature to wipe your wet face off, but a couple of times I forgot and I used one of my beautiful deep olive/army greem Ralph Lauren towels and I did notice a tiny bit of discoloration... sucks!!!
Do you just dab a little on the area with a q-tip like I do or what?

Yep, I have ruined so many good towels from not just BP, but other zit creams, that I only buy Target towels anymore. We honestly don't have a single towel in the house anymore that isn't bleached out from something that I have used on my face.

My roommate last night tried her own acne remedy: egg whites and vinegar. She dabbed it on her face, but we haven't seen any results. Has anyone tried this before or should we stick with over the counter products and get rid of the kitchen sink remedy?

Wow good advice -- and I totally forgot about the phone thing -- my roommate is having a lot of trouble with her skin lately and its right around her chin! I will have to remind her to clean off her phone at work and her cell phone.
I have also heard that depending on your mood/body balance you tend to breakout in different places on your face? Any ideas about this...?

respectfully disagree.
you get what you pay for-especially when it comes benzoyl peroxide. BP comes in many different concentrations & some of the cheaper products don't contain enough to combat problematic, active acne. also, many drug-store brands(Pro-Activ included) are insoluable...meaning it doesn't penetrate the skin, it only sits on the surface & drys up the outermost layer of your skin...it doesn't target anything in the inner dermis, which as we all know, is where the acne originates. BP is most effective in a liquefied form that allows for deeper penetration at about a 5% concentration....this costs considerably more to formulate, and that cost is passed along to the consumer. doesn't really have anything to do with advertising costs.
you're welcome.
