Depression glass: Does anyone one else collect?
I was just wondering if anyone else collects depression glass ware, fiesta, or Jadite? I acutally favor it over modern pieces.

I collect mostly Moderntone Cobalt, I have got a couple pieces of orginal fiesta and a whole lot of Jadite from the 1940's-1950's

I personally prefer to collect lately Monet, as well as Picasso in his last decade.

However, I am getting bored with them lately so I might switch to pieces by da Vinci.

Do you think that would be a good idea?

nah nah nah.

Matisse has such a great eye for color.  I love his art, you should get some of that...same with Kandinsky...always fun.  Oh oh...Klee!  What about Klimt even?

hehehehehe.

But Marilyn, isn't that what lux is all about? Making up a new name and posting bitchy comments under that so noone knows your "true" identity on here? Wink [;)]

Glam -- I love depression glass! My mom likes it and she got me hooked on scouting antique stores for it. I like fiesta ware too, but not as much. Depression glass is so pretty and I feel like it really has a history.

Cool, Fiesta wear is ausome! I only have one piece so far, the water disc pitcher in yellow. I got it at an antique store for 35,but it is really worth $125, they didn't know what they had. I also have the mini disc pitcher in turquoise.

What depression glass patterns do you like most? What have you collected?

I was just wondering if the word "ausome" is a new hip spelling, the way some people spell "kool"for cool or "dayem" for damn.

I like the depression glass small salad plates in solid-color turquoises, blues, and yellows. I've also seen a really pretty coral color. The classic pitcher is the only fiesta ware I have as well, it's the best!

I don't get it. If your glass is depressed, can't you just give it Zoloft or Prozac to make it happy again?

I love toast, but I can't eat too much of it because unfortunately, I'm hypoglycemic.
