Re: Daily Exercise
Also, with these books and diets, they are so regimented that although it might not be that bad in the beginning, it's very difficult to stay on a diet like that forever...eating to lose weight should be a lifestyle change, not a feeling of deprivation.  Depriving yourself only leads to failure eventually, as IrresistableStitch said.

Glad to hear you're okay.  Here's hope for a speedy recovery. Smile [:)]

And LW: About the stairmaster...you're someone to look up to!

Tommorow is my first self defense class.  I may also then do some work on the good ole stairmaster if I don't pump the air in my bike tires and bike for two-four miles. Smile [:)]

Re: Daily Exercise

Yeah, get well HBA!!

I had a epiphany this morning.....about breakfasts vs. energy.  Lately Id been eating fruit salads for breakfast, or several pieces of fruit, esp. bananas since they're high in sugar.  I thought this was great fuel for my workout.  Then I had that big b-fast monday, I was shocked when I had WAY more energy.  I expected to be tired from a heavy b-fast.  Going off the theory I learned about glucose levels in the Sobe book---fruit (low protein, low fat) causes a surge in your sugar levels, therefore causing an insulin spike, following by a fast DIP in glucose level.  NOT ideal for pre-workout food.  A large b-fast of eggs, bread, grits and tons of butter.....the fat and protein cause the glucose to gradually enter the bloodstream.....no insulin spike.....and your glucose levels are higher and MUCH more stable for the long workout.  That makes total sense! Surprise [:O]

Now Im not gonna start eating huge heavy b-fasts everyday.....but I need to incorporate more fat/protein into my b-fast.  Toast w/butter maybe....some bacon. Devil [6]

Its so much better to never lose it, than to lose it and get it back--you can always tell the difference. With that said, most people never get it back, so if you get it back after you lost it, thats better than losing it forever.

Girl, you better buy a new house without stairs....didn't you fall down them before or something, tripped over your cat?

I am glad you and your baby are okay though.  I bet you are sore today.  You cracked me up talking about he thought you were taking him on a ride.

^^I knew someone was going to remember that and think I'm the biggest idiot cluts:) Yes, I have nearly fallen before because of our stupid cats. I can't blame this one on the cats though. Just me hurrying to the grocery store, missing a step and boom, boom, boom down the stairs I went. Luckily, our house gets listed today so we should be out of here soon. It is just NOT a kid friendly house for so many reasons!

So now we're saying sex is exercise?????

LOL.....we've now stretched the word exercise to encompass everything from walking to the busstop, to bending over and taking it up the ***.

I think if you have to walk a mile to get to the bus stop it can be considered exercise.  I've started walking to and from work everyday, which is about 2 1/2 miles each way, but I guess since it's just walking to work it's not exercise.  And if I'm simply bending over, taking it up the a*s, I wouldn't consider that exercise either.

Today:  walked to and from work, 15 minutes of abs

Omigod, you can borrow him right now if you want. Not because I don't want him, but because I am feeling like the most terrible and neglectful mother in the world right now. My husband had to go to work today and I can't play with Zeke really because of my foot, so he is sitting in his rocker watching Baby Einstein's. I usually despise parents like me who station their kids in front of the TV all day but I don't know what else to do. Ugh - I need to move where we have family to help out!

Re: Daily Exercise

Do you live in Austin, by any chance?? Wink [;)] I'm kidding...I think you're in Vegas?? Or is it Phoenix? I can't remember. I just know you're west of me. LOL

But girl, don't even worry about that. You're in a temporary bind. Don't give yourself such a hard time. If you hadn't hurt your foot, you and Zeke would be having a blast...he knows it, you know it, and your husband knows it! I know you still are going to feel guilty, but just know it's temporary. I know how you feel, though. I'm a single parent. As you probably know, my parents are in Japan...I did everything 100% solo. There were days when I was sick...or really busy trying to handle everything, and I felt like my son was neglected. But I always made up for it when I could. How many months is Zeke?

Re: Daily Exercise
Aww, thanks, you make me feel better when I am feeling like total sh*t! Zeke is 6 months and one week! I literally was sitting on the steps yesterday, waiting for my husband to get home to rescue us, thinking "What the h*ll was I thinking, that we could do this having a baby thing 3,000 miles away from our family?" Sometimes I feel like such an a** for putting us in this bind. But then I remember that there are people out there everyday who have it so much harder than I do and then I feel like a bigger a** for feeling sorry for myself.

But yeah, Phoenix is where we were at. I wish I were in vegas right now. I'd be on the strip drinking myself silly right now! I'm just feeling so frustrated today!

Re: Daily Exercise

Smile [:)] Trust me...as mothers, we ALL have our days. If I could tell you some of my stories....wow. Sometimes I have cracked under  pressure and turned into a complete MONSTER. I'd go OFF on my son, and later feel soooo bad, but the damage had already been done. But in the end, my love for my son FAR outweighs any of my shortcomings as a mother. I know I can't be a perfect mother, but when I have the chance to make up for my "bad" days, I do. And wow...li'l Zeke is only 6 months old! Your situation is temporary!! He'll be walking before long and entertaining himself! By the time he's old enough to hang out at the park, your foot and ankle would have LONG been healed, and you two will be terrorizing the park!!

But aww...I feel your pain. Just imagining you and Zeke on the steps waiting for your hubby. Awww. But just remember...your son thought it was the funniest thing...he was laughing when it all happened. So he'll remember it as a fun time...LOL Wink [;)]

Re: Daily Exercise
Thursday:
We had to do a fitness gram for my personal fitness class.

i was the last one on the mat for curl ups (did 47) and push-ups (did about 25); along with a trunk lift (a lousy 10 inches) sit and reach (about 13 inches on right leg and 12 inches on left).

when i was done with the pushups (i had done 4 more than the last guy on the mat) two guys came over and shook my hand and congratulated me... it was TOO funny

Re: Daily Exercise

Gotta get this thread back in the groove.  Who's with me?

Today:

pilates.  15 mins of abs.

Very light today because aunt flow is here.     I'm tired, cranky, but at least the September issue of Vogue and the J.Crew catalog sure seemed to cheer me up. plus, the dvds.  An excuse to be lazy.  Like you really need an excuse for that...Stick out tongue [:P]Indifferent [:|]

Ooo, you go girl. hehe

I did 45 min stairmaster today, it was killing me.  But I forced myself to finish. Tongue Tied [:S]  I guess it was hard because I didnt get to workout monday, so that was 3-days off.  Then I did about 15 min abs. Smile [:)]

Re: Daily Exercise

Thanks. I try. :D

running - 30 mins.   abs - 15 mins.   cardio - 10 mins.

My pilates instructor will be out sick for awhile so this makes me unhappy.  I may go to yoga or replace with strength classes instead. Not sure.   Cardio dance? Idea [I]

What kind of massage are you getting?   As a massage therapist (right here!),  I'd love to hear about how it went! haha

Im not sure what kind, this is my first time.  I heard he does the regular kinds like deep tissue, aromatherapy, and the hot rocks supposedly.  I guess Ill get the deep tissue one??  They all sound good except I dont wanna be rubbed down with oil. Tongue Tied [:S]

Do people moan when you're doing them??  "doing them", ha.  Should I talk during the massage, do your clients talk to you??  Im sorta nervous about this. heh
