DailyCandy
Did anyone read the kids edition of the DailyCandy today? There's an article about internet safety and kids staying smart online and a site dedicated to this called 2SMRT4U. I think this is a great idea for kids to have a place like this to go to learn about staying safer online, especially during the summer while they are out of school and online more. I think kids will be safer online with sites like 2SMRT4U and NetSmartz411 teaching internet safety! http://www.dailycandy.com/article.jsp?ArticleId=30824&city=3
There have been so many scary stories about young teens and kids meeting online predators. What do you think is the best method of protection?

Re: DailyCandy
I never heard of it, but thank you for suggesting it! I think it's important to "semi-shelter" your children.

Sure, I highly suggest signing up for Daily Candy! They have great stuff about fashion, sales, and stuff for everyday life! I liked that they put that article in the kids edition the other day, I think it is so important, especially while kids are out of school for summer. They have to learn about internet safety so they can keep themselves safer online!

Re: DailyCandy
There was a short report on the news last night that 7 predators were arrested after they were tracked down by their MySpace pages, and MySpace has now agreed to cross-reference their member lists with the registered sex offenders list.

I hope they can track that way despite phony name/address signups, by IP's and such.  Now all the predators will be signing up for geek classes so they can conceal their identities!

Re: DailyCandy
I hope so too! It upsets me so much to hear that these people are are talking to innocent young kids online. I read that thousands of predators have been caught on MySpace. It is so sad to know that the site isn't as safe as I thought it was, good thing there are the privacy settings! I think everyone, especially kids and teens should set them appropriately to keep themselves safer!
