here's the killer... they were $399 with 80% off!!! I paid only $79 for them!!!!! i thought that they HAD to be damaged but not a thing in site!!!! now i found them on Zappos.com for $295.07 (http://couture.zappos.com/n/p/dp/22252253/c/19.html)

the joy is overwhelming!!!

Re: god bless you DSW...

I know that HAD to be a fabulous feeling...!!!!

I came across a pair of Giuseppe ankle tie espadrilles at Neiman Marcus Last Call in a size 7...I'm usually a 7.5 or an 8. They were GORGEOUS so I didn't care..I bought them anyway. I was able to squeeze my feet into them when I tried them on, so surely I'd be okay...but NOPE. After I got home, I put them on and walked around for a few minutes in the house...TORTURE! LOL...grrrrrr. I paid about $198.00 for them, but I saw them on Zappos for higher. This was a few months ago. I never took them back, and I thought about Ebay'in them...but they're tooo frikkin gorgeous to give up...so they're still sittin in my room on display. LOL Maybe if I lose a few pounds, my feet will shrink...LOLOL.

Nevertheless, Congrats on the find!!

I'm a fan of NM Last Call, too!  At DSW Mrs. Emery found a pair of Narciso Rodriguez pumps and a couple of Pollinis, but both of us have done best at NMLC: Chanel, Manolo, YSL, Gucci...!

We are hundreds of miles from the nearest NMLC (and the nearest DSW too, for that matter), so we don't go often - but boy, do we splurge when we do!!!

Don't let those cute shoes sit in your closet!  Bring them to a cobbler and see if they can be stretched.  If they are only a 1/2 size too small maybe they can be stretched???

Re: god bless you DSW...
ya amazing feeling!!

i agree with going to a cobbler. i mean u can usually stretch shoes. i had a sad story of these BEAUTIFUL patent leather red wedges that my boyfriend bought me from Active Endeavors. he surprised me with them and got me a 7.5 because he said they were all sold out of every other size. so i tried them on and had to pretend that they fit (while secretly planning how to fix the half to full size of space).

it's been since November and I've only worn them once (stuffing socks into the toe box - fyi - very uncomfortable). however i was at DSW and bought those heel gellies, sole gellies and another part of the shoe gellies (haha). i've "installed" them and WOOHOO they are soft and cushiony AND the space has almost completely been taken up and they fit a MILLION times better!!

that was a break-through... haha.

Re: god bless you DSW...

Yes, you guys are right. They're sitting there wasting away. I'm gonna find somewhere to take them to get them stretched. I HOPE it can be done. And Emery, I LOOOOOVE  Last Call, also....for shoes..clothes...bags...for ALLL of it. It's a candy shop!!! I live in Austin, and there's an Off 5th in a city about 30 miles south of me. I don't get out there much, but like you said...Last Call has such a DELICIOUS variety of goodies...

Anyhoo, I was too lazy to dig up a picture of my lovelies last time. Here they are:

Here's the link to them on ZapposCouture. Can you BELIEVE they have them in 8.5 on the site?? Grrrr. I could've worked with an 8.5!! And that's the ONLY size they have left. Go figure...LOL And yesss...they're still going for $298.00 on the site. I got them for $100 less!!! I MUST get them stretched!!!

Re: god bless you DSW...
You're right, Khalia, Off 5th Saks is great, too.  I think I've gotten more there than at Neiman LC, but not quite the Megabrands.
Anyway, you probably CAN have the espadrilles stretched, but three things to think about:
1.  Any stretching lasts for a few days only, so you have to KEEP them stretched (wear them often or put stretchers in them).
2.  Depending how much wider they have to go, you may wind up hanging over the edges a bit.
3.  Length won't be a problem - it's just that the little heel piece will come up a bit lower on your ankle, which won't matter a bit - you'll be tying the ribbons wherever you want anyway.

Re: god bless you DSW...

Thank you sooo much for the 411, Emery! I'm glad to hear there's hope. The main issue is the strap over my toes. (is that part called a strap? LOL I never knew. Or is it a band?) I usually don't have a problem fitting my feet into any shoes, but this is the second pair where the width of my foot caused problems. I realize it's probably just the fact that the shoe is .5 to 1 inch too small, but at the same time, I get a lot of  "muffintop" gushing from that strap. I've gained a few pounds lately, and some of it probably went to my feet! LOL I hope they can stretch it out enough...!
