I really like the photos here with cool sculptural objects & swimming pool backgrounds. akrans editing and colours are decent but not amazing. angie really lets me down. I think shes a bad choice for sept 07 lead edit. maybe in 1997 she brought some heat but shes clearly in the twilight of her career. I think shes doughy & relatively unimpacting here. best look galliano red petal dress. these are good pictures but its a touch mundane styling wise & angie just does not rip it here. 6.7 of 10 mainly for cool pics & settings. edit #2/cover. kate hudson by lindbergh. jenny capitain picks it up with gatsby-esque flapper looks. lindbergh here shoots a better celeb edit than one sometimes sees. hudsobn works better here in these sophisticated retro looks than you might expect from her sort of earthy hippie image. the mens looks are equally fantastic, ralph daywear and evening jackets like valentino. pretty grassy settings. very sophisticated flapper edit looks, really successful. newsstand cover is prada, slightly safe commercial face shot. subscription cover is armani, much closer to retro vibe inside. also pgs 4 & 5 inside the cover 2 page dior yellow gown- great too. this is much better than a typical hudson shoot would be and lindbergh and especially capitain really excelled in the gatsby flapper idea. 7.7 of 10 strong celeb edit. edit #3 natasha poly by sundsbo. pants looks styled by g cortina. poly's been off her game & really think in recent years. shes better here, and better than that in some of the ads in this mag. sundsbo does some decent modern city nightscape pics, but not that great. cortina styles some top looks like brooks bros tux [!!], marc, ysl, Ralph, but in sum not that awesome. still, poly's good in turns & the above noted looks came through. 7 of 10. edit #4 courtney love by karl. yuck. kl is sooo much hotter than court here. 3 of 10. edit #5 coco by lindbergh. wow theme of 'bauhaus' - actually kasemir malevich's suprematist compositions- is absolutely stunning contrasted to brana wolf's fall looks. many pics have projections of malevich's artworks behind them. the most important abstract artworks in art history. kl used some of these designs a few years back on his dresses. wolf styles lots of sharp fall looks: narciso, molinari, missoni, etro, dell'acqua, ch, p/s, marc, val. every pic with the malevich backdrops is incredible, art & fashion together is so so strong! lindbergh's pics show this brilliantly-- its at least as great as that mariacarla factory girl thing he did about 2 years ago. and coco is at her absolute best here- shes not always great, but shes cute & vulnerable here, amazing in these looks. narciso molinari marc & val pages are absolutely incredible. one of best edits Ive seen in 2007. 9.5 of 10. edit #6. hana by nat goldberg. i usually hate hana but this is one of her best edits ever!! wolf again styled preppy outdoorsy equestrian looks. more great looks: balanciaga, bottega, cavalli, kors, givenchy, lanvin. wolf took these looks somewhere else & improved them. hana's the healthiest Ive ever seen her! goldberg did a classic ralph/brooks bros horsey thing but he's better than usual too! i cant believe that hana & goldberg did so well here but its actually wolf's doing!! 7.5 of 10 Im impressed! edit #7 marc jacobs & naomi by jean paul goude. omis looking good here. marc is high comedy in a tutu. I think he comes off dumb clown but i guess he didnt mind it. the pics are pretty good, recalling so many great ones goude did in 80s etc. 6.7 of 10 edit #8 rhoda by luchford. mel ward's 70s esque styling is abysmal. luchfords glam pics are appropriately disco but the clothes look so bad. rhoda's sexy but she cant triumph in these crap looks. ib expect way better from rhoda & luchford. 5.5 of 10 blame ward edit #9 maryna linchuk by kadel. linchuk is great here sort of a mini anden filtered through 80s vogue style. wolf styles a mixed bag of looks but most hit. kadel's studio shoot pretty rote but at least linchuk looks amazing. 7.1 of 10 all for maryna. edit #10 rachel clark by sundsbo. ewww clark deserves way better. makeup makes her look serpentine. katie grands dark feather looks are total crap. sundsbo shot the right vibe for the looks but scary model + horrid clothes still a flop. give rachel the outdoors treatment that hana got above & maybe shell shine. this is gross. 2 of 10 edit #11 prouenza/schouler by kadel. BOR-ING. 2 of 10. edit #12 chloe sevigny rehab story by lindbergh. yes meisel has done this kind of thing. still its shot well by lindbergh kind of tabloid fashion. mary alice stehenson's looks are suitably varied, schizophrenic even. chloe's a really good model/actress, better here than shes been in some of her films. lindbergh & chloe really make it work even if some of the looks are properly suit5ed to a dippy starlet than a high fashion maybe thats the point. fun edit that deserves betetr placement. 7.7 of 10 VERDICT: some outstanding stuff here by lindbergh with coco, chloe & hudson. wolf's styling in coco & hana shoots just superb. the casting was a bit safe although linchuk's looking hot. this expansive sept ish is all over the place but the highlights were great & theres enough here to please pretty much any fashion obsessive. in general its fresher & better than a lot of HB in 2007. TWO THUMBS UP "....and she'd over-dosed on magazines.... just fade to grey...."    Report

I went over to tFS, but they have removed the pics from the thread...or I think they have outlawed posting them in the first place??? wtf eta: haha, I meant "whoLe"..but I like that typo. hehe Its so much better to never lose it, than to lose it and get it back--you can always tell the difference. With that said, most people never get it back, so if you get it back after you lost it, thats better than losing it forever.    Report

They make no sense over there. I saw the Kate cover, best one in along time. She may not be the "classic" beauty, but thats okay with me. Its refreshing to see someone that doesnt look like everyone else. The dress was amazing. Its so much better to never lose it, than to lose it and get it back--you can always tell the difference. With that said, most people never get it back, so if you get it back after you lost it, thats better than losing it forever.    Report
