Hair issue

Ok, so I have fine, thin hair that is naturally ... well, I don't know exactly (sometimes it'll be curly, sometimes straight ... it depends on the weather?! I don't know)

Anyways, so I wake up at 6 in the morning and take a shower, then I blow dry my hair around 6:45. My hair is usually a little more than half dry by then. Anyways, I blow dry it with the hot setting, then when it's completely dry I blow dry it with the cool setting for about a minute. Then, I quickly run my straightener through some parts of it.

The problem is, by the time I'm in school for about an hour, it starts to go wavy and stuff.

Why? Help? Anything ... ?

Thanks

Re: Hair issue
Oh man - let me tell you about trying to get straight hair! It has been in constant pursuit for most of my life. Basically, I have the opposite of you - incredibly thick hair that is naturally wavy. When I want it straight and to STAY straight I consider several things:

1. The Weather: is it humid outside? foggy? chance of rain? all of those could potentially ruin any effort I put into my hair primping. Therefore, if I want to keep it straight I will wear a hat while walking outside or just wait for winter when the air is cold and dry (the best to keep hair straight).

2. Products: before blow drying use a de-frizz or a straightening gel in wet hair and then blow dry; it makes your hair come out straighter and sleeker. Then after you straight iron the hair post blow dry, put a finishing cream on the ends of your hair to weight it down. Finally - spray a light mist of hairspray over your head to keep it all in place!

3. Embrace the waves:
I didn't think about embracing my wavey hair until much later in my life, but now that I do, it is a cute way to mix up my style and also decrease my efforts in front of the mirror everyday. I use a softening cream to define my waves and either pull my hair into a low ponytail with a side part and straighten my bangs, or I will leave it down and use a bobby pin to sweep up one side of my hair away from my face. It looks really cute!
