Well my goodness, I'm off the Farenheit pills for good.
Here is what happened to me:
I was taking 2 pills a day for about 3 days as directed on the bottle. I was feeling pretty good. But then on Saturday night/early Sunday morning, I woke up with a rapid heartbeat (and I'm talking 136 beats per minute!!),, chest pain and headache. I was dizzy and sick so I went to the ER and passed out...... The pills had caused spikes in my blood pressure which could have been very damaging. I got quite a lecture from the ER doctor and he advised me never to take these again. I have been out of work for 2 days being limp and lifeless with a massive headache.......looks like I'm stuck with exercising naturally. Which sucks because I need knee surgury so I can't exercise much beyond walking and diet alone is not working!!!!
Oh well, I'd rather be a little chunky than in the ER again!!!!!

Im glad I didnt start off with 2 pills. The results I got from taking one pill were almost shocking, if Id moved up to two, the same thing probably would've happened to me. If they had to be FDA approved, this stuff would NEVER reach store shelves! Because these companies are able to report any "studies" and results they please, and leave out all this bad stuff thats' happening to people. Is there any diet pills that ARE approved by the FDA??
I had such high hopes after the first day, and now Im back to my old eating habits. Ugh, i wish I had that energy back, I felt like Rocky!!

So I just read through this whole post (rather interesting), and I promise that I'm really not meaning to preach here, but I've gotta say these things.
Why have girls gotten to a point where you're taking pills to artificially lose weight when you don't even know all the bad side effects? One poster said, "And none of those, 'I know so-and-so who died from this,' stories." Why not? 'Cause you don't want to see that it really could be bad for you and that there isn't a miracle solution to weight loss? I find it very interesting how the posts started out good, and then as the thread went on people progressively started reporting their bad experiences with it. It's odd, because everyone knows how terrible on the body steroids are for guys. And I'm not saying that diet pills are as bad because I honestly haven't read enough about them to say that, but diet pills are basically the steroids for women. Both things help men or women to get the results for their body that they want (usually) but not without a price. There's a reason why it's not super easy to lose weight: because it's through healthy eating and exercise, both of which most people don't particularly like to do. When you start messing with artificial crap, trying to cheat the system, it'll catch up with you. I just can't believe women are blindly trusting companies with their bodies.
To the poster who said she cares more about her brain than her thighs, amen sista!

I completely agree with this post. You know, one time I took the diet pill route and it worked. I dropped 10 pounds and once I was off those pills, I gained it all back plus more. I finally learned that the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy and exercise. By eating healthy I mean taking in more than 1500 calories a day. By increasing my caloric intake, I was able to keep off the weight that I lost. I eventually increased my calories until it reached the 2000 range. Now I can eat as much as I want and never gain the weight back because my metabolism has skyrocketed since increasing.

Im actually considering still taking one of these pills before my workout. LOL Okay, so 3/day was too much. But maybe one a day?? If I can workout like that, the appetite suppression isn't such an issue.

Wow... very eloquently said. I couldn't agree more. I have been reading
these posts in shock. I need to lose a few but I would never willingly
compromise my health to do it. It's going to take me a lot longer that
way, but it's worth it to me. Please everyone make healthy choices!

Look, I don't want to push here, but that is a bad move, even with 1 pill.
I can't make anyone do anything, but considering how I ended up in the ER with heart palpitations, I would strongly hope that it would make you girls think twice about taking them. And I was only taking one pill in the morning and 1 in the afternoon for only a few days! the last day I even just took 1 pill and that's it!
I don't want ANY of you to end up the way I did. It took me in the ER with heart problems to face the facts that there is no miracle pill, if you want something you need to Work at it the hard and NATURAL way if you want to still be around to enjoy your new-found thinness!!!!
Even if you don't have the heart/scary ER trip that I did, who knows What is happening internally in your body. There was a post from a woman a few days ago saying that since they are not backed by the FDA, they don't have to put the negative results out, they can pick and choose what puts them in the best light! I completely agree with that woman and I hope that more woman will understand what I learned the hard way: You are only as beautiful as you feel inside.....to hell with the size 0 actresses on tv! Be happy and love who you are, not who you think people want you to be!!!!!!!!!
I may be a little chunky, but I'm happy, healthy and ALIVE! Be safe, girls!

I took another one today before I worked out (I didnt work out yesterday). I didnt even eat today until like 4pm, I was gonna eat a huge fruit salad, but ended eating a taco and pizza slice lol. But in any event, I worked out and I went from level 4 to level 6 on the stairmaster, and burned 325 calories. Thats major!! But in the last couple minutes of my "climb", I had a couple of heart palpitations. I checked my pulse, it was way too high. But I only had 1 minute left, so I stuck it out. Other than that, it went great. Maybe I wont do 45 min next time, especially if I kick up the level. Im not going to take these everyday, but I will take one before I work out. It really takes you to the next level.

Depending on how fast your palpitations were you should NEVER NEVER EVER continue exercising with rapid heartbeat. Let me repeat: NEVER. You could go into an arrhythmia. This can lead to a heart attack or stroke. You are pumping WAY too much blood thru your heart. Trust me, I JUST WENT THROUGH THIS. I was VERY lucky not to have had a stroke. Please don't anyone be so foolish as to continue taking it. Common sense as well as labels on the exercise machines say to STOP when things don't feel right, you cannot mess with your heart.
I had my heart racing at 136 beats per minute when I was resting, not even doing anything - it woke me up from sleep. The doctor told me I was lucky I didn't stroke out. Can you imagine my reply....but I'm DYING to be thin....literally. He said any physical exertion at that time would stroke me out.
I hope you don't end up like me in the ER at 3am scared out of my mind that I was going to die. Think about it.

That is so scary. I wondered if I was gonna drop dead on the stairmaster. lol Okay, tomorrow Im gonna see if I can do the same workout (sans the dangerous pills). I think I can. These pills give you a fake metabolism. And if I keep up with my workout and eat right, I can get my metabolism up naturally--I know that. I didnt feel sick or anything, thats why I kept working out. The pills make me feel like superwoman!! Hmm, I sound like a dope addict. I was planning on taking one before my kickboxing class tomorrow (my instructor was gonna be so impressed, LOL). But normally, I cannot get through the class without taking a break because its pretty intense. Normally when my heartbeat is too high, you feel like your gonna pass out. But with the hydroxycut, it makes it tolerable--you can keep on going. Yeah, you're so right--thats SO not good. You can stroke out without the warning signs. Scaaaary. Im gonna throw those pills in the sink, and blend'em up in the garbage disposal, so I cant reach them.

^^Thankums. What you're doing is the really hard part--eating right. I swear. Working out is challenging, but it doesnt take much discipline--its more motivational. So kudos to you. Work that cottage cheese & fruit girl. haha I eat what I want, but I try to balance it out by kicking some butt in the gym.
My instructor said that drinking coffee before workout can give you an energy boost. I am going to try that, its gotta be helluva lot safer than some obscure pills.
|
|
Wow, we need to trade places for a minute! Although I used to be a workout-aholic WAY back in the day lmao, I'm just not as motivated right now. It's easier for me to eat well than work out. But I dunno...maybe I'm just in a slump right now. Or just a lazy azz. But I've been getting on my treadmill and doing weight training. I hope once I start seeing results, like you said, it'll be motivating. But yeah, once I get to my goal weight, I want to be able to eat what I want...that's part of the joy of life! Eating, drinking and being merry. LOL.
But yeah, coffee seems to help some. I know there are some side effects to caffeine, but like you said, it's a better alternative than pills. I actually bought a coffee machine about a week ago. I'm lovin it. So much more convenient than making Starbucks runs!
But we can do this!! ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
